Gross

I'm sick today. Yuck. Felt fine last night, but this morning I woke up with a sore throat and runny nose and it's gotten progressively worse throughout the day. There's nothing more frustrating and difficult than trying to teach while you're sick. Students ask questions and it's hard to form coherent responses. I felt bad that I was snippy with them, especially when they asked frustrating questions or just began blowing off assignments. I'm sorry you don't like the book I chose for you to read, too bad! You've only read 15 pages, how the heck do you know if you hate the book already?? Read it and get the points! I also had to throw down during one period. I made students take out their books, sit down, and read for the last 10 minutes of class. They complied, which I was glad about. Maybe that's how I'll have to run things for the rest of Lit Circle times. I don't like it, but that may be how it has to be. I hope the rest of the week is better.
